The application <br />comprises eight volumes and contains the information required by the Cripple Creek Mining <br />Overlay District ("CCMOD") regulations in Appendix CC-10 including a copy of the seven <br />volume application to the Office of Mined Land Reclamation ("OMLR") within the Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety. <br />The proposed activities, the Cresson Mine Life Extension ("MLE"), include extending the mine <br />life of the project for approximately four years (2012-2016) at the current production rates and <br />an associated extension of the Valley Leach Facility ("VLF") to accommodate processing the <br />additional ore. Also enclosed is the application fee in the amount of $5,000 provided as check <br />number 00092581. <br />The Proposed Project <br />The proposed MLE includes an extension of the existing and approved Cresson Mine mainly to <br />the west and north of the current mining areas. The MLE will require relocation of Teller County <br />Road 83 and portions of Teller County Road 82 and realignment and upgrading of Teller County <br />Road 831 at the intersection to Colorado State Highway 67. A new overburden storage area is <br />proposed to the north of the East Cresson Backfill to accommodate mine rock that cannot be <br />backfilled. An extension to the existing Squaw Gulch Overburden Storage Area is also proposed <br />as an alternative area in the event that additional overburden storage is needed. The MLE
