Coal exploration activities at these sites will be conducted utilizing helicopter access. The methane
drainage wells (MDW) at these sites may be constructed utilizing a modified (smaller diameter) well
configuration, as MCC's typical MDW design cannot be achieved with helicopter transportable drilling
equipment. Should these modified MDWs prove to be insufficient to ventilate the ]nine methane from the
planned longwall panels, MCC may submit a separate revision application for road access and typical MDW
construction. Table 2 of the Exploration Plan has been amended to remove the roads from the estimated.acres
of disturbance.
Please contact me at (970)929-2238 or by e-mail should you have questions regarding this amendment.
Sincerely,
Kathleen G.
