All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface <br />Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />Western Fuels-Colorado, UC proposes to continue surface coal mining and/or reclamation operations on <br />land located approximately 1 mile North of Nucla, Colorado. The operator has requested no new disturbed <br />acreage with this renewal application, nor would additional lands be incorporated into the permit area. <br />The permit area is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 1 and 6, Township 46 North, Range 15 West, New Mexico Prime Meridian; and <br />Portions of Sections 25, 31, and 36, Township 47 North, Range 16 West, New Mexico Prime Meridian <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Nucla. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Montrose County Clerk and <br />Recorder, 161 South Townsend, Montrose, CO 81401, and at the Division office, Room 215, 1313 <br />Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. <br />In order for us to comply with regulatory time flames, we request that comments be submitted to the <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety at the above address by January 26, 2008. If no comments are <br />received by this date, we will proceed on the assumption that your agency has no concerns with or <br />objections to the applicant's proposal. <br />Sincerely, <br />/w1 dw-?
