Coal exploration activities at these sites will be conducted utilizing helicopter access. The methane
drainage wells (MDW) at these sites may be constructed utilizing a modified (smaller diameter) well
configuration, as MCC's typical MDW design cannot be achieved with helicopter transportable drilling
equipment. Should these modified MDWs prove to be insufficient to ventilate the mine methane from the
planned longwall panels, MCC may submit a separate revision application for road access and typical MDW
construction. Table 2 of the Exploration Plan has been amended to remove the roads from the estimated. acres
of disturbance.
Please contact me at (970)929-2238 or by e-mail should you have questions regarding this amendment.
Sincerely,
Kathleen G.
