(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-~ 98CL--246
INSPECTION DATE: ~~.~/~9/n9 INSPECTORS INITIALS: SAP
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was conducted as apre-operational inspection for an amendment to a 1 12 permit as
well as a monitoring inspection for the existing portion of the site. Present at the inspection were Kate
Pickford, DRMS, and Rocky Hocker, Hocker Construction. Weather at the time of the inspection was
clear, calm, and approximately 60 degrees.
2. The site is located off of CR 300, accessed from CR 301. A sign is posted at the entrance to the site. All
activities at the site appear to be contained within the boundaries. Disturbance on the existing portion
of the site consists of a near vertical highwall at the north end, various roads, a large processing area
where the crusher and stockpiles are located, and a mining face that has been sloped to 3H:1 V,
unvegetated slope. Much of the site has been mined out, which is the reason for the amendment
application.
3. The area proposed for amendment is located north of the existing highwall and currently consists of
pasture adjacent to the house on the property. Mr. Hocker stated that intimately, the operator desires
to amend an area to the south east of the proposed area, but there is an outstanding dispute between
the various landowners who hold an interest in the land. If this dispute can be solve, the acreage
proposed in this amendment will not be mined and the desired piece of property will be added into the
permit. Otherwise, mining will proceed on the currently proposed amended acreage.
4. All activities at the site appear to be within the parameters of the current permit and o observations
were made during the inspection that would prevent the proposed amendment from being approved. .
The Division is still reviewing the amendment application and any questions it has regarding the
proposed amendment will be addressed through the adequacy review process.
I & E Contact Address Cc: ^ CE
^ BL
NAME: Roy Hocker ~ ^ FS
^ HW
OPERATOR: Hocker Constuction ^ HMWMD (CH)
STREET: 41 h7 County Rc~_ 3~1 ^ SE
~ O QCD (CH)
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Ignncic~ CC) 811'37
