(Page 2)
MINE ID A OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1977-446
INSPECTION DATE: n3/1949 INSPECTOR S INITIALS: KAP
OBSERVATIONS
1. This inspection was conducted as a monitoring inspection for the site. Present at the inspection were
Kate Pickford, DRMS, and Rocky Hocker, Hocker Construction. Weather at the time of the inspection
was clear, calm, and approximately 60 degrees.
2. The site is located south of Hwy 151 approximately 2 miles east of Ignacio. There does not appear to
have been any recent activity at the site, and future activity at the site needs to be addressed with the
Division (see problem 1). All activities at the site appear to be contained within the boundaries.
Disturbance consists of a near vertical highwall at the south end of the site, various roads, a processing
area where stockpiles are located, and scales and a scale house. Ponds, apparently a result of mining,
are located on site. Much of the site has been mined out.
3. The west area of the permit, which according to annual reports is reclaimed, possesses ponds. The
permit does not address the presence of ponds at the site. This is cited as a problem (see page 3), and
will need to be addressed by the operator.
4. Mr. Hocker stated that Hocker Construction plans to submit a conversion application within the next few
months, to expand the permit, extending it to the south. Although the site is due for a recalculation of
the reclamation bond, this will be conducted during review of the conversion application.
I & E Contact Address Cc: ? CE
?
