Appendix A.
Following is a Table of Reference Points (waypoints) with corresponding UTMs as located by
handheld GPS unit, with background radiation, a description of site, and a list of photographs of
the sites if available. The reference points are shown on the 11 x 17 inch topographic and
photographic base maps for location. The survey was conducted to establish the general
background radiation in the area which has been previously mined for vanadium and uranium.
The Garmin GPS units are generally accurate to within about 20 to 25 feet (6 to 8 meters), but
the recent aerial photographs facilitate a much closer location. The scintillometers used were
Radiation Specialists model Super Spec RS 125 assay grade meters, although only total gamma
counts were recorded.
Nuvemco, LLC had low-level color aerial photography shot over their entire claim block on the
Monogram, Davis, Wild Steer and Skein mesas to document the vast array of existing roads and
trails left by previous mining efforts and kept barren by recreational four-wheelers, ATV
travelers, hunters, and campers. The mesas have several maintained Montrose County Roads in
addition to BLM access roads. As seen in the aerial and local photographs, much of the
landscape is barren outcrops of sandstones of the Salt Wash member of the Morrison Formation,
pockmarked with drilling, exploration and mining efforts.
Table and photographs follow.
