Geologic Map Modified from USGS Davis Mesa and Bull Canyon Quadrangle
Maps, 1 inch = 2000 feet
(a) Nuvemco owns all unpatented claims surrounding the Last Chance Mine Permit area.
(b) San Miguel Power Association has a three-phase electric power line which terminates with a
drop located near the southern end of Last Chance Claim #3. Nuvemco installed a transformer
and buried a cable to the office trailer from which power enters the mine and powers the
ventilation fans, etc. There are no creeks, roads, boundaries, oil and gas wells or lines, on the
area of affected lands.
(c) Maps C-3, C-6 and C-7 show the topography in the area.
(d) The Last Chance Permit Area encompasses 49.98 acres more or less. Mining activities are
estimated to disturb approximately 2.46 acres. Exploration drilling on existing roads and trails
will disturb less than 5 acres in phases.
(e) Dominant plant species on the higher ridges included: pinyon pine, Utah juniper, and
mountain mahogany. The lower areas were dominated by big sagebrush, juniper, grey
rabbitbrush, rice grass, wheatgrass, cheat, and other grasses.
(f) There are effectively no water resources in the vicinity of the Last Chance Mine and permit
area. The Last Chance Mine is dry, historically dry mines on the Davis and Monogram mesas,
and two dry monitoring wells drilled by Nuvemco document this situation and are described in
Exhibit G.
(g) The only permanent man-made structure on or near the permit area is the above described
San Miguel Power line.
Last Chance Mine - April 2009
C-1
