Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety <br />On behalf of Bowie Resources LLC, enclosed is an application for technical revision to <br />incorporate drawings into the permit application package that show the 3H:1 V slopes on <br />the upper portions of coal mine waste disposal area number 2. Bowie Resources, LLC <br />previously demonstrated that slopes as steep as 3H:1 V for the upper portions of coal <br />mine waste disposal area number 2 will provide a factor of safety of 1.5, both during <br />and after construction, when proper methods of construction are used and site <br />conditions are periodically monitored. The following items have been amended; <br />1. Appendix B (Probably Hydrologic Consequences) was revised reflecting the new <br />ditch configuration and sizing for the 3:1 gob pile design. Map 22 (Figure 3) was <br />revised to show the updated ditch sizing, new sediment and water levels in the <br />pond. <br />2. Appendix A was updated to show the new topsoil and coverfill requirements <br />based on the new pile design. <br />3. Maps 15-3, 18, 20, 21-3 and Figures 1, 2 & 3 were updated with the revised <br />topography. On Figure 1, Sections D and A were revised. <br />4.
