C-81-008 by Western
Fuels-Colorado (WFC) in Nucla, CO.
Dear Sirs:
I am writing this letter as a formal protest to the application for a Technical Revision to the New
Horizon Mine Permit No. C-81-008 Section 2.05.4(2)e. This Technical revision covers the
change in Success Standards-in Irrigated pasture-from a standard to a reference area.
We are objecting to,what the revision actually contains and the properties involved. I have
bought many 100 s of tons of alfalfa, hay from the Morgan property which is the property this
revision aff?cts This property is prime alfalfa farmland not pasture lands. The reason I buy
from them is they sell dairy quality alfalfa with NO grass. This alfalfa is very high protein
content and it is the only straight Alfalfa that I know of sold in this part of the country. I, along
with many others have bought this hay for many years. I feel very strong that the land needs
to be put back -in the condition that it is or better. The production of straight alfalfa is very
limited in this area and we need to be able to keep buying alfalfa from the Morgan ranch not
a grass mix or just pasture land where there is little or no production.
We depend on this hay every year.
Thank you,
4A ' ???
Dan Cooper
eherri' bope-y-
