This project includes an extension of the Cresson <br />Project mine life through 2016. <br />Amendment 9 also incorporates the Cameron Mine Permit (M-1991-134) into the <br />Cresson Project Permit (M-1980-244). On December 4, 2008, CC&V requested <br />termination of the Cameron Permit (M-1991-134) and release of the associated financial <br />warranty. Reclamation of the Cameron site is now fully included in the Cresson Project <br />Amendment 9 approval and financial warranty. <br />Technical Revisions (TRs) were submitted to and approved by the Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) for: <br />• TR-52 - Phase IV b/c perimeter liner extension <br />• TR-53 -Amendment 9 backfilling and regrading plan for North Cresson <br />• TR-54 - Main Cresson noise and visual berm <br />Enhancement and general maintenance of stormwater control features continued in 2008. <br />Remaining Amendment No. 8 activities and construction of Amendment 9 activities will <br />continue throughout 2009 and beyond. <br />Reclamation in the fall of 2008 consisted of recontouring and seeding portions of the <br />decommissioned Victor Leach Pads and Ponds 6, 7, and 8 associated with the decommissioned <br />Pads 3 and 4. <br />The Victor Leach Pad reclamation consisted of approximately 25 acres which were regraded to <br />approximately 2.5H:1 V to prevent erosion, enhance revegetation, and blend with the surrounding <br />topography. No growth medium was added, but the area was ripped on contour then fertilized <br />and seeded. <br />The second project consisted of recontouring and seeding approximately 3 acres of Ponds 6, 7, 8 <br />which had been backfilled in 2007. No growth medium was added to this area, however finer <br />grained material was spread over portions of the area to promote revegetation. The area was also <br />fertilized and seeded. <br />Weed control techniques were implemented within the Cresson Project area in 2008 and will <br />continue in 2009. <br />Per the requirements of C.R.S. 34-32-116(3), and C.R.S. 34-32.5-116(3)(a): <br />Reclamation accomplished to date: Approximately 285.5 acres <br />Reclamation accomplished during the preceding year: Approximately 28 acres of <br />disturbance associated with the Cresson Project (Victor Pads and Ponds 6, 7, 8) was <br />reclaimed in 2008 as described above. <br />New disturbances anticipated during the upcoming year.
