JLWC 4MB ON ? ?FrCF
MAUVION MI1VIW d SAPS,
Subject: Munger.Canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1981-020)
Partial Bond Release Application No. 1
_ CAM Mining, LLC. submitted an application to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety (DRMS) for a Phase 1 bond release covering 18.5 acres of reclaimed lands at the Munger Canyon
Mine area. DRMS found the application to be complete on October 30, 2008. In response DRMS
initiated a review process that included notifying the public, all interested parties, and all interested
government agencies, including the BLM. A bond release inspection was conducted on December 3,
2008 by DRMS, BLM, and OSM.
DRMS then drafted a `Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance for the Munger Canyon Mine,
Permit No. C-81-020' dated February 23; 2009 documenting the inspection findings and proposed
decision. The proposed decision is to release the applicant from liability for backfilling, grading; and
drainage reestablishment on 17.2 acres and release $145,860.00 of the remaining $269,094.00
performance bond. In reviewing this document it appears 17.2 acres have been reclaimed in accordance
with the approved reclamation plan, and the 1.3 acres excluded from release will be eligible for Phase I
bond release after culverts are removed and low-water crossings/dry fords are properly installed along
the former haul road on BLM administered surface.
It is recommended that the partial bond release request be approved.
