Jared Dains
South Platte Combined Replacement Plan
April 2, 2009
Page 3
Mining and reclamation of the Teti Pit is complete leaving exposed ground water requiring a
permanent plan for augmentation. Aggregate filed an application with the water court for a
permanent plan of augmentation under case no. 2007CW198. Until such time as a decree is
entered in that case, Aggregate will replace depletions from the Teti Pit under this SWSP.
Mining at the. Platte Valley Pit was completed in 2006. The site has filled with ground water
and as mining progresses across the river at the Wattenberg Pit, Aggregate will backfill the Platte
Valley Pit with fines produced from the Wattenberg Pit. Ultimately the entire site will be backfilled.
Aggregate has not yet begun to actively mine the Wattenberg Pit as stated in previous
reports and dewatering has not begun at the site. However, there is currently 1.7 acres of ground
water exposed at the site and depletions resulting from evaporation will be replaced under this
SWSP.
Mining of the North Dahlia Pit is complete and Aggregate has backfilled a portion of the
existing lake leaving approximately 3.5 acres of exposed ground water at the site. Aggregate
amended the water court application for a plan for augmentation in case no. 2007CW198 to include
the remaining 3.5 acres exposed at the North Dahlia Pit. Until such time as a decree is entered in
that case, Aggregate will replace depletions from the North Dahlia Pit under this SWSP.
The Jeronimus Pit is complete and Aggregate is currently filling in the lake at the site with
fines from the Hazeltine Pit. Ultimately the entire site will be backfilled.
Aggregate has completed mining at the F-Street Pit and is in the process of reclaiming the
site. The dewatering pumps were turned off in 2008 and the post pumping depletions associated
with that activity was accounted for in the 2008 SWSP and will continue to be accounted for in this
SWSP. Aggregate is working with the landowner°and expects to transition the land back to him
within the next three years after the reclamation is,complete.
The final reclamation plan for each site, the bond amount and the water commitment to
replace depletions in the event that the operator ceases dewatering and walks away from the site is
shown in Table 3 below.
Table 3
