Canyon appear to cause the increase in TDS at LC-1 and in alluvial well MWLC-1 in
lower Lorencito Canyon.
Summary
The probable hydrologic consequences were predicted to be minimal or insignificant
during and after operations. The mine is now reclaimed and nearly all the disturbed
areas have been reseeded. Infrequent sediment pond discharge would be the only
predicted impact that could occur in the future. These potential discharges to the
stream system are monitored when they occur and to-date have not resulted in
downstream impacts. An evaluation regarding points of compliance for groundwater
was completed and no impact to the groundwater due to mining was predicted,
therefore there are no ground water points of compliance at this mine site.
The Division has no further questions at this time. Thank you for conducting
monitoring in accordance with your approved plan.
Sinc ely,
Kea Gorham
Environmental Protection Specialist III
