The north decline east and west non-discharging sumps are designed to contain
the 25-year 24 hour storm event without discharge. The sumps were dry during the
inspection. The sumps were certified by Larry M. Reschke, P.E. on December 21,
1992. Based on visual observations during the inspection and a hand level survey of
the depth of the sumps, the sumps have excess capacity plus the following design
capacity:
Water Sediment Total
East Sump - A-F 0.08 N/A 0.08
West Sump - A-F 0.32 N/A 0.32
The sewage lagoons located at the unit train loadout consist of an aeration lagoon and
a series of three non-discharging lagoons. During the inspection, the lagoons were dry.
The capacity of the lagoons is not considered important and is therefore not presented.
The lagoons are inactive. The embankment on all of the lagoons needs to be graded to
smooth out erosional features. Plans are to delay maintenance of the embankments
until the sewage lagoons have been re-activated. Reclamation will likely occur before
the system is activated.
To the best of my knowledge and belief, the impoundments with the exception of the
as designed and in accordance with the
sewage lagoons, have been ma'jptai
approved plan and applicab la?j, ?
E.
