("Mi Vida"), a corporation that owns both
the Cash and Who do Mines (Permit M-1983-141), as well as the land where the Gold Hill Mill's
tailings pond is located (Permit M-1994-117) up in Boulder County. Mi Vida has an operating
agreement with Consolidated Global Minerals, Ltd ` which conducts its operations in the Gold
Hill-Mining. District4hrough its subsidiary, Mount'Royale Ventures, LLC ("MRV'.
It has come to our attention that MRV has filed a request•for a "technical' revision" to'th'e
Gold Hill Mill Permit referenced above by a letter,. addressed to Mr. Tony Waldron of your
office and dated January 30, 2009 ("the Request"), though it appears to have been hand-delivered
only on February 6, 2009. The purpose of the Request is apparently to get your Department's
permission to allow the Gold Hill Mill to process ore from off-site locations and then dispose of
the tailings, at least in part, underground in mine workings that neither belong to MRV or to the
offsite suppliers of ore. In particular, it seems MRV is looking to dispose of the tailings from the
processed ore by placing them on lands owned by my client, Mi Vida.
We write to say that we strenuously object to this Request and we particularly resent the
underhanded manner in which this alternation of the existing permit structure has been sought.
Any suggestion that this Request is a mere "technical revision" of the existing permits is fatuous.
Quite the contrary, this Request is violative of the existing permits issued to the Gold Hill Mill
by both the your Division of the State of Colorado and Boulder County.
Apparently, the off-site ore is supposed to come from Tom Hendricks of Calais
Resources, Inc., whose Cross Mine (Permit M=1977-410) is located some ten (10) miles from the
Gold Hill Mill'. It was our understanding that Calais was supposed to have constructed its own
millsite to process its own ore. Be that as it may, the "revision" propsed by MRV could result in
up to 70 000.tons of ore being processed through the Gold Hill Mill with 70,000 tons of mill
waste destined to be disposed of in mine workings. owned by my client.
