The additional proposed exploration location is in an area previously permitted for disturbance
(Seneca II) and is located adjacent to an existing road. Surface owner listings, access agreements
and cultural resource clearances have been completed for the proposed site as part of the original
NOI request. Review of the proposed location did not identify any potentially impacted wildlife
resources requiring avoidance or specific mitigation measures (refer to accompanying
documentation).
No road construction will be required to access the site. The proposed activities will occur during
the period of August 1st through October 30th, when favorable ground conditions prevail.
Reclamation of exploration disturbance areas will involve plugging and sealing the drillholes,
allowing the mud pits to dry-out and then backfilling the pits, replacing windrowed topsoil, and
reseeding the areas. The rangeland seed mixture will be used to seed disturbed areas, as it has
been used to seed disturbance areas at the Seneca II mine. The estimated cost for reclamation of
the proposed exploration disturbance is approximately $26,000, for purposes of bonding.
Changes in the supplemental information for the approved NOI have been highlighted in yellow
to facilitate review of this amendment. Please replace the appropriate pages to the approved NOI
according to the changes.
