Because the five exploration holes will be new disturbance, we are requesting that your agency
determine whether or not the proposed drilling will adversely affect a place that is listed on or is eligible to
be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We make this request pursuant to the May 1991
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between our agencies.
The proposed new disturbance will total 1.9 acres. The drilling locations are labeled as 2009E through I in
the lower left corner of the enclosed map. These locations are in Sections 5, 8, and 9 of T14S, 90W,
Gunnison County.
In order that we may comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be submitted within
fifteen (15) days of this letter.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303) 866-3567, extension 8128.
Sincerely,
Te, I«
Tom Kaldenbach
Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation
Denver • Grand Junction • Durango
Office of
Active and Inactive Mines
