The fill now ties into the adjacent
topography with no saddle. Map M12, sheet 3, Map M14, and the Horse Gulch Fill Plan View
and Cross-Sections have all been modified to incorporate this change.
A more complete description of the mining method used in K Pit is included as a :part of Section
3.1.4.1, Mining Sequence, pages 3-15a and 3-15b. A discussion of safety requirements and
resource recovery is included. It is worth noting that the truck and loader development plan for
this area is critical to the recovery of 8.6 million tons of coal in K Pit and 4.0 million tons of coal
in L Pit.
Permit section 3.5, Backfilling and Grading, pages 3-39, 3-39a and 3-39b have been modified
to include a discussion of post mining topography as it relates to K Pit and the Horse Gulch Fill.
The proposed small variation between pre-mining and post-mining elevations in K Pit is
consistent with previously approved configurations associated with Trapper's successful
reclamation efforts.
Permit Section 3.5.3, Post Mining_Contours, pages 3-40, 340a and 340b, includes a description
of the Horse Gulch Fill and The K Pit Buttress Fill. This text has been updated and moved from
Appendix T to Section 3.5.3.
P.O. Box 187 Craig, Colorado 81626 (970) 824-4401
