The Division letter identifies
nine issues requiring more information or text changes within the application
package:
1. The text for Section 2.05.2 and 2.05.3 has been reviewed and modified to
address all proposed new facilities in Section 2.05.3.
2. The use of "current permit term" has been deleted from text in Section
2.05.3.
3. Additional information regarding new facilities has been added to the text.
Figure 2-A has been added to identify the surface disturbance area for the
Apache Canyon Shafts and Map 11-A has been drafted to show the shaft
disturbance boundaries relative to the permit area.
4. West Portal reclamation is addressed in the existing approved permit text.
The sealing plan for the East Portal Airshaft submitted with permit
renewal (RN-5) application will also apply to the Apache Canyon and
West Portal Airshafts.
5. Proposed reclamation bond estimates for the West Portal airshaft and
slope entry and Apache Canyon Airshafts have already been submitted.
6. Discussion of proposed future mining activities has been removed from
Section 2.05.3. A statement committing to submittal of a Permit Revision
for a new mine plan can be found in Section 2.05.2 on page 2.05.2-3 of the
enclosed text.
7. Text and Maps have been reviewed, and where necessary, revised to
ensure consistency in naming facilities.
8. The annotations for Right and Left Forks of Apache Canyon have been
revised on Map 3
