Kerr (Marr) Mine - 2008 Annual Hydrology Report
8.0 WELL INSPECTION
The wells associated with the Kerr Monitoring Program were inspected for defects and/or repair needs.
No anomalous conditions were observed during the 2008 inspection. In September and October of
2002, Kerr, in cooperation with the DRMS, OSMRE, and BLM completed a program to identify, plug,
seal, and reclaim a number of old exploration boreholes and inactive alluvial monitoring wells. None of
the present monitoring sites were affected by the closure activities.
As previously stated, most of the remaining monitoring wells were plugged, sealed and reclaimed
during October, 2008. Exceptions are Well SP-01, located at the mine site, which was converted to a
Stock Watering Well. AP-1 and AP-2, located at the Loadout, will continue to be monitored until final
bond release is achieved for that site.
9.0 FUTURE MONITORING
During the 2008 water year, monitoring activities were conducted according to methodologies and
procedures presented in the approved Kerr Water Monitoring Plan with reductions to the program as
approved by the DRMS since issuance of the Monitoring Plan. Monitoring activities in the 2009 water
year will continue to be conducted in accordance with approved procedures for the Loadout area until
that final bond release is submitted and also approved or until authorization is provided by the DRMS
and associated agencies.
Kerr Mine/Al-1R 2008 Page 10
