Kerr (Marr) Mine - 2008 Annual Hydrology Reporl
FIGURE 4 MINE AREA SURFACE WATER AVERAGE pH vs. FLOW (2005-8)
10.00
9.50
9.00
1 STN 301 A STN 302 ?- STN 304 -A- STN 305 -n- STN 321
7.0 LOADOUT AREA SURFACE WATER
Two Loadout surface water sites (319 and 320) were monitored weekly from March through June, then
monthly through September, 2008. There was discharge from Site 320 beginning May 1 and ceasing in
the end of July 2008 ranging from 0.5 to 2.0 cfs. No flow was observed after July 2008 at Station 320
and there was no discharge in 2008 from Station 319. The sedimentation pond associated with Site
319 filled during spring runoff and retained water through September. Site monitoring locations are
shown on Map 2, Loadout Area Monitoring Stations.
As of January 1999, the monitoring program for surface discharge points (for the mine area) was
reduced to monthly monitoring for a parameter list including flaw, temperature, pH, settleable solids,
and oil and grease. For Site 320, only the field measurements (flow, temperature and pH) are required
for monitoring. This data is contained in Appendix A, 2008 Field Data. The flow data for the Loadout is
presented on Table 4, Loadout Area Surface Water Quality Data. Figure 5, Loadout Station 320 -
Historical Flow and pH, shows the variation in flow and associated pH reading at Station 320 for all
historic flows measured since 2003. -
Surface water sites 316, 317, and 318 were dropped from monitoring as of October 1999. No data was
collected from these sites during this water year.
Kerr N ine/AHR 2008 Page 8
