• installation involved placing a 2-inch diameter PVC pipe with a <br />5-foot screen into the soil boring. The piezometer was then <br />gravel packed and sealed with a bentonite seal approximately 2 <br />feet thick. The piezometer locations are shown on Figures 2 and <br />3. <br />Visual inspections of the two refuse pile sites were performed to <br />obtain information on surficial distribution of soil materials, <br />character and structural attitude of the bedrock, etc. This <br />information was then utilized in the development of the stability <br />models. <br />• <br />• <br />4 <br />
