I asked Basil to send photos, as well, which
he attempted to do later in the day. However, the "photos" turned out to be "videos", which our system blocked
me from opening. Basil returned to the site later and sent me photos on the 10th
In answer to your questions about man-hours and schedules, I will contact Basil today to get that information.
During my site visit on the 27th, we discussed the sediment in the Stevens Gulch road ditch. The majority of the
sediment was near enough to the mine access radius to actually fall within the disturbed area of the permit. I did
not list removal of that sediment as a separate abatement step, but they agreed to remove it and reestablish the
ditch flowline there. With respect to the SG road ditch, I determined that attempting to remove the sediment
would create additional damage, i.e. disturb a well-established vegetative cover, with little benefit. Given the
time of year, the existing grasses will quickly grow back through the relatively thin deposit of sediment,
preventing its transport further down the ditch. Joe looked at the ditch, in passing, during his inspection, and did
not observe any remaining accumulations of sediment.
Marcia
Marcia L.
