Rationale for Recommendation for Approval <br />Over Objections; Regular 112 Construction Materials Application; <br />Journey Ventures, LLC <br />Journey Ventures Pit, File No. M-2008-080 <br />March 23, 2009 <br />Introduction <br />On March 23, 2009 the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety ("Division") issued its <br />recommendation for approval of a 112 Construction Materials Permit Application, over objections. <br />This document is intended to provide a basis for the Division's recommended approval over various <br />concerns and reasons for objection to the Journey Ventures Pit application, File No. M-2008-080. <br />The Journey Ventures, LLC I I2c permit application was received by the Division on November 26, <br />2008. The site is located approximately 1 mile northwest of the town of Kersey in Weld County, <br />Colorado. The property is located in Section 7, Township 5 North, Range 64 West of the Sixth <br />Principal Meridian. The proposed permit area is 84.63 acres. The proposed post mining land use for <br />this site is developed water resource. <br />I.OJECTIONS: <br />On December 22, 2008, J&T Consulting, Inc. notified five individual land owners within 200 feet of <br />the proposed permit boundary as required by Rule 1.6.5.
