a deepened core trench 8 - 12 feet in width to a depth of 10 feet below the bottom of the reservoir, or to
"practical refusal" in bedrock, while the figure shows only a shallow 3 foot key. Please resolve this
discrepancy.
• The source(s) and quantity of the backfill material required for the change in configuration of Cell 1 is
not specified in text, and no costs for additional backfill activity have been provided in Exhibit L. Is there
sufficient material in the "borrow cell" for all the backfill required on site according to this plan?
• No costs have been included for the installation of the 3 c.f.s. culvert across Cell 6 in the provided
estimate.
• Only one topsoil pile is shown on the provided maps (located on the SE corner of Cell 1). Topsoil and
overburden material must be segregated and maintained separately until used in reclamation. Where will
the topsoil material from Cells 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 be maintained?
• Acres requiring topsoil replacement/revegetation do not match between Exhibit E text and Exhibit L (61
acres vs. 138 acres). Please clarify.
This concludes the Division's preliminary adequacy review of this revision (TR03). Other issues may arise
as additional information is supplied. Please remember that the decision date for this revision is April 2,
2009. As previously mentioned, if you are unable to provide satisfactory responses to any inadequacies
prior to this date, it will be your responsibility to request an extension of time to allow for continued
review of this revision. If there are still unresolved issues when the decision date arrives and no extension
has been requested, the revision will be denied.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303) 866-3567 x8140.
Sincerely,
Eric Scott
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Anthony Waldron - Senior Environmental Specialist
