Dear Mr. Cunningham,
We have received the Division's Adequacy Review - 02 request for additional information
relating to Journey Ventures, LLC's (JV) application for permit number M-2008-080. JV offers
the following additional information addressing the Division's questions and requests.
6.4.5 Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan
1. The Applicant has stated on page 4 of the Adequacy Review Response that groundwater data from
the piezometers will be gathered prior to dewatering operations. Please commit to collecting and .
reporting five (5) quarters of groundwater measurements prior to starting dewatering operations.
Journey Ventures, LLC agrees to collect and provide five (5) quarters of groundwater
measurements prior to starting dewatering operations.
2. The Applicant has stated on page 4 of the Adequacy Review Response that a perimeter drain will
be installed if differences of 18-24 inches or greater occur from the seasonal groundwater data.
Typically the trigger point is based off of three consecutive months of variation from baseline data.
Please commit to notifying the Division within 48 hours in the event that the monitoring wells
show three consecutive months of exceedance of the 18-24 inch trigger.
Journey Ventures, LLC agrees to contact the Division within 48 hours in the event that the
piezometers show three consecutive months of readings greater than the 18-24 inch trigger.
6.4.12 Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs
3. The Mining Plan Map shows a house and several out buildings within the proposed permit
boundary. Since these are existing structures that are owned by the Applicant, the Division will not
include them in the reclamation cost estimate. In order to exclude this component from the
reclamation cost estimate, the Division asks that you commit to maintaining a setback distance of
fifty (50) feet from these structures until they are removed from the site.
