Rationale for Recommendation for Approval <br />Over Objections; Regular 112 Construction Materials Application; <br />GP Ranches, LLC <br />West Farm Pit, File No. M-2008-078 <br />March 20, 2009 <br />Introduction <br />On March 20, 2009 the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety ("Division") issued its <br />recommendation for approval of a 112 Construction Materials Permit Application, over objections. <br />This document is intended to provide a basis for the Division's recommended approval over various <br />concerns and reasons for objection to the West Farm Pit application, File No. M-2008-078. <br />The GP Ranches, LLC 112c permit application was received by the Division on November 20, 2008. <br />The site is located approximately 0.5 mile east of the town of Lamar in Prowers County, Colorado. <br />The property is located in Section 33, Township 22 South, Range 46 West of the Sixth Principal <br />Meridian. The proposed permit area is 232.78 acres. The proposed post mining land use for this site <br />is developed water resource. <br />1. OBJECTIONS <br />On December 23, 2008, J&T Consulting, Inc. notified nine individual land owners within 200 feet of <br />the proposed permit boundary.
