Nuvemco, LLC's Monogram Mine M-1978-222UG
Response to Preliminary Adequacy Review
March 10, 2009
Section 3, Fxploration
300 chill holes are noted for reclamation but not described in the mine plan. Please clarify.
The description of drilling plans has been added to Exhibit D, Mining Plan Section 3 on page 4
of this response.
Section 4, reseeding:
(a) There are no details on what hazardous or dangerous adits, shafts, and erodible roads and trails will be
reclaimed. Please provide details.
The Mine plan states less than 5 acres will be disturbed, However in the reclamation plan it specifically notes
32 acres. Please clarify is staff to assume 5 acres or the 3.2?
Open or partially reclaimed adits are shown on the reproduced USGS topographic base map at
the northern end of the Happy Thought, Bob Tail and Breen Back claims. Nuvemco anticipates
finding more during the drilling phase of exploration. These open adits or shafts will be
investigated for potential reopening, or closed and reclaimed during the exploration phase, or
when the mining operations are completed. The existing road/trail on the east end of the
Monogram claim crosses steep terrain and may be improved or abandoned in accordance with
the landowners preferences.
Table E-1 has been modified to match the mining plan.
Existing Disturbed Total Disturbed Area Disturbance to be
Area Description (acres) (acres) reclaimed (acres
Staging Area with berms 0.9 1.0 1.0
Monogram Pit disturbed 1.5 2.0 2.0
area
Overburden Stockpile 0 0.2 0.2
Portal/adit investigations 0.4 1.0 1.0
Exploration borehole sites 2.0 4.1 2.1
Estimated acreage 7.8 8.3 6.3
disturbed
The current surface land owner prefers that the general area be left as is for recreational purposes
with reclamation being limited to filling in hazardous or dangerous adits and shafts and erodible
roads or trails. Thus, only an additional 3.5 acres will be disturbed and reclamation will be
limited to about 6.3 acres. Most of the planned disturbance is reclaimed concurrently such as the
sections of the Monogram Mine or individual boreholes and thus costs are ongoing. Assuming
that all re-vegetation reclamation was completed at the end of the mining project, costs,
including re-contouring the land surface, scarifying, and seeding and mulching (certified weed
free hay or straw mulch) is estimated to have a unit cost of about $1,100/acre; a total of
$6,930.00.
11
