Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />Re: Follow-up on Unresolved Problem at Van Valkenburg Gravel Pit; Permit Number M-2005-003 <br />Dear Mr. Van Valkenburg: <br />The above-mentioned site has had one or more problems noted that, according to Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety (Division) records have not yet been resolved. According to our records, the following problem was to be <br />resolved on or before October 10, 2006. Listed below are descriptions and corrective actions for the problem. Please <br />resolve the corrective actions and provide evidence of such resolution on or before May 19, 2009. <br />Please note that if the corrective action is not properly addressed, and evidence provided to the Division by the date <br />provided above, the listed problems could be escalated to the level of possible violations and would then be referred to <br />the Mined Land Reclamation Board for further action. <br />• The sign posted at the entrance to the site does not meet the criteria presented in Rule 3.1.12(1). <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: <br />• Post a sign at the entrance to the site that meets the criteria presented in Rule 3.1.12(3) which are as <br />follows: a) name of operator b) statement that a permit has been issued by the Colorado Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board and c) permit number. <br />If the problem has already been remedied, please provide evidence of its completion.
