M-2008-078 - GP Ranches, LLC - West Farm Pit - 112 (c) Application Adequacy Review 01 Response
March 17, 2009
-8-
permit boundary, but due to concerns that the property owners to the south of the proposed
operation had, it was moved north to a new location away from those property owners, and
through the proposed permit boundary. An acceptable mining setback has been followed
adjacent to this corridor in the event that rail spurs are constructed within it. This rail corridor is
currently in the planning stages for multiple, non gravel product uses. GP has been approached
by a local power company, a local manufacturer, and a wind energy company in the area, to
place rail spurs in this corridor for their use in staging and storing their coal cars, manufacturing
materials cars, and wind energy equipment cars. The rail spurs would be permanent if they are
constructed. If future market conditions warrant shipping gravel products via rail beyond the
local market, GP may in the future revise their permit to include a rail load out facility within the
permit boundary, and utilize one of the spurs for these deliveries.
GP appreciates your consideration of this information in response to your questions and
requests, and looks forward to your response.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
?• j
Todd Yee
J&T Consulting, Inc.
Cc: File
GP Ranches, LLC
Prowers County Clerk and Recorder
Attachments:
Updated Application Form Certification Page
Updated Exhibit A - Legal Description
Updated Exhibit B - Index Map
Updated Exhibit C - Pre-mining/Mining Plan Map
SPCC Letter
Draft Lamar Light and Power Structure and Relocation Agreement
Updated Exhibit F - Reclamation Plan Map
Updated Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs Summary Table
Copies of Structure Owner Agreements
Updated Slope Stability Report
V 1400 W 122nd Avenue - Suite 120 • Westminster CO 80234 • Ph: 303-457-0735 • Fax: 303-920-0343
