Wildlife is an important secondary use, with these <br />soils best suited for openland and rangeland wildlife. <br />In cropland areas, habitat favorable for ring-necked <br />pheasants, mourning doves, and many non-game species <br />can be developed by establishing wildlife areas for <br />nesting and escape cover. For pheasants, the inclusion <br />of undisturbed nesting cover is vital and should be <br />included in plans for habitat development. This is <br />especially true in areas of intensive agriculture. <br />Rangeland wildlife, such as deer and antelope, can be <br />assisted and encouraged by proper livestock grazing <br />management and range reseeding where needed. <br />This.soil is not suited for urban or recreational <br />development due to the flood hazard. <br />Vegetation <br />General Characteristics <br />The subject area has a considerable amount and <br />versity of vegetation. Large cottonwoods along the <br />Poudre River thrive in considerable numbers, mixing <br />willows and others. Types of vegetation are cited <br />the U. S.
