The map also shows all man made structures located
within 200 feet of the excavation; including creeks, roads, buildings, oil and gas
wells and lines, and power and communication lines on and within 200 feet of the
affected land; as well as all adjoining surface owners of record. A listing of the
adjoining surface owners names and addresses are listed under Exhibit C - Text,
correlated with those shown in the aforementioned map.
This operation is active since October 1984, under a permit approved in 1978.
Varra Companies, Inc., assumed the Operations under the permit by Succession of
Operator in October 1999. Shortly before the Succession, affected lands over the
permit area had reached maximum disturbance. Subsequent operations and
reclamation by Varra Companies, Inc; including the act of extraction itself; is
steadily improving the condition of the affected lands while incrementally
decreasing the reclamation liability of the operations, as evidenced in Exhibit L -
Reclamation Costs.
Geology and subsurface conditions are described in the original permit approval,
extracts of which are included as part of, and at .the back of, this exhibit. Method
of mining is presently dry, with discharge of waters under an approved Colorado
Dept. of Health discharge permit (COG500100). Extraction utilizes, but is not
limited to, diverse heavy equipment; including, backhoes, scrapers, excavators,
dozers and related heavy equipment. A grader and water truck maintain access
throughout operations. Access is clearly indicated under Exhibit C - Pre-Mining
and Mining Plan Map.
Varra Companies, Inc.
