INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM <br />TO, KENT GO <br />FROM: JANET BINNS <br />W <br />SUBJECT: FOIDEL CRE <br />MIREVISION NO. 66 <br />DATE: 3/11/09 <br />CC: DAN HERNANDEZ <br />Twentymile Coal Company has submitted an application for a technical revision to the Foidel Creek Mine permit <br />(C1982-056). This revision proposes to drill two 6-foot diameter boreholes for installation of a ventilation fan and an <br />escape shaft. A 17 1h" pilot hole will also be drilled and cased for use as a Nitrogen injection borehole. The boreholes <br />will be blind sink drilled from the surface with cuttings placed in a lined cuttings pit with dimensions 200 ft. x 100 ft. x 10 <br />ft. An access road will be constructed from Routt County Road No. 27. The borehole pad will measure approximately <br />425 ft. x 500 ft., and a transformer ad, 80 ft. x 125 ft., and a topsoil stockpile will also be constructed. TCC anticipates <br />the total disturbed area will be 5.> acres. TCC is proposing to construct a two-celled sedimentation pond to treat <br />sediment from the disturbed area. One culvert is proposed on the 18-Left access road. <br />I am requesting your assistance with review of the sediment pond design and location for this revision for compliance <br />with Rule 4.05, and design and sizing of the road culvert. TCC conducted a soil survey of the proposed disturbance area. <br />The soils information is found in Exhibit 16G. Exhibit 8DD contains the proposed drainage and pond designs. <br />The application was found complete on March 11, 2009. Please provide your adequacy concerns to me by April 10, <br />2009.
