No. 05-01443, Colorado Springs, El <br />Paso County, Colorado <br />l 9L \-l t t9A) <br />As requested, engineers from the Mine Waste and Geotechnical Engineering Division <br />conducted a field investigation at the Pike View Aggregate Quarry, located in Colorado <br />Springs, Colorado. The purpose of the investigation was to investigate an ongoing, large, <br />mass pit slope failure that occurred at about 7:15 a.m. on December 2, 2008. <br />The engineers visited the quarry on December 4 and 5, 2008, and were accompanied by <br />Mr. Tom Stefansky and Mr. Billy Schroeder from the Denver, Colorado, Field Office. <br />Report No. MW09-008, which is attached, provides the details of the investigation, the <br />results of the evaluation, and recommendations for addressing the situation.
