PIPELINE CONTRACTORS
MAINLINE AND DISTRIBUTION
11 AUSTIN ROAD REX M. HINER
LAMAR, COLORADO 81052 SHARON A. HINER
719 336-3467 RECEIVED
January 28, 2003
State of Colorado JAN 3 0 2003
Division of Minerals & Geology
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street Room 215 Division of Minerals and Geology
Denver Colorado 80203 1ftS?2C?7?of'iIlos?/ ??J
ATTN Thomas A Schreiner /
RE: Greeley Pit M-1977-151
Mr Schreiner.
We are in receipt of your Inspection Report covering your recent ''visit to the
Greeley Pit on December 4, 2002 and we appreciate your concern of the three
items you mentioned:
1. Revegetation/Significant number of Salt Cedar Shrubs along shorelines:
Regarding the revegation - everything has been replanted except what is
Grandfathered in with the exception of the area where work is currently
on going.
We have been in contact with Ron Broda of the Weld County Weed Department
and he informed us that the Salt Cedar Shrubs are not considered a noxious
weed in Weld County, but they are not a nice weed to keep. We have been
saving them to just have growth on the banks and have seeds for the birds.
We will dig the Salt Cedar Shrubs up this Spring and Ron informed us that
Weld County has another cost share program that we will sign up with as we
have other weeds we are trying to get rid of.
2. Entrance Sign:
We have designed a sign to be placed at the entrance of 2220 10' Street and
have included a copy of the same - we would like to know from you that this
sign is sufficient, then we will order it printed, then hang it accordingly.
.3. Groundwater Evaporation:
In February 1973 three irrigation wells were signed with Groundwater Approriators
of the South Platte River Basin Inc (GASP) under contract 032331 for augumention
purposes - this contract continues under our name today.
We hope the above actions are satisfactory with your report.
Thank You.
RMH/sah
enclosure
f
Respe tfully,
Rex M Hiner, President
R M HINER CONSTRUCTION CO INC
