3.1 - Structural Practices
Stormwaters (precipitation) and associated sediments entering active pit and
haul/loading areas will be contained by using a combination of sediment retention berms,
haul road ditches and silt fences (where necessary). As there will be no waste rock or
disposal area stockpiles at this site it will only be necessary to install BMPs adjacent to
the active areas of the site, along haul roads and at site access points.
3.2 - Non-Structural Practices
Non-structural BMPs at the site will consist of preservation of existing vegetation
adjacent to the exterior boundary of the area of mining operations. All stormwater at the
site not contained in the active operations area will be fully contained by the excavation/
SE topographic low/sediment pond area. The ultimate reclamation for the disturbed area
is for rangeland and wildlife habitat improvements. (BMPs consisting of sediment
retention berms, haul road ditches, and silt fences will be utilized to limit any stormwater
impacts.)
