VIII. EXHIBIT H - WILDLIFE INFORMATION
Included in this exhibit ion on the following attached pages is a wildlife assessment
performed for the new expansion area by Savage and Savage Environmental during
September 2007. This wildlife assessment did not revisit current wildlife conditions for
the existing permitted area, which is almost completely mined out, nor for Ready Mixed
Pit No. 1, which will be incorporated into this permit, and which is already completely
mined out and reclaimed.
Conclusions from the Savage and Savage wildlife assessment include the following:
• "There is no significant wildlife habitat present on the site."
• The [proposed] mining and reclamation will create more diverse range of
habitat [than presently exists] on the site."
• Potential habitat for the Preble's meadow jumping mouse is considered
present at the site because of proximity to the South Platte River riparian
corridor, but the site is within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife block clearance area
for the Denver Metropolitan Area.
The complete wildlife assessment is provided on the following attached twelve (12)
pages.
43
