ORIGINAL - PUBLIC FILE
(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1 980-944
INSPECTION DATE: 34sin9 INSPECTORS INITIALS: __RK-
OBSERVATIONS
The Division conducted a monthly monitoring and construction progress inspection of the
site on 3/5/09. Present during the inspection were, Mr Gray Goodrich and Mr Tim Comer of
CC&V.
As approved in January 2009, the constriction phase of Amendment 9 is progressing well. In
fact according to CC&V they are ahead of schedule.
The visual berm for both the city of Victor and Goldfield was being top soiled in
anticipation of hydro seeding and mulching. Clay processing, load out bin and sub-station
move to the new area and power pole moves were progressing accordingly.
The new haul road for the load out bin has been cut to grade. CC&V wants to place a small
lined fresh water pond for dust suppression that will allow them to cut the fill up time
for the tankers near the crusher pump station area. Since the are being proposed is part
of the current affected area, as long as CC&V provides a letter and new map showing the
location, DRMS will not object to the placement of this small pond. On fact during
Amendment 8 construction, AMES, was the contractor at that time and is also the current
contractor for the pad construction, had placed a similar fresh water pond below the
Arequa Gulch overburden storage e area.
Inspected the Cresson mine area, both the main, East and wild horse(East Cresson) were
active. Mining in the wild horse and East Cresson pits should be completed soon with
backfilling to commence as soon as possible. Backfilling of the East Cresson mine with the
exception of the area to be mined is still continuing. Most of the old #3 and # 4 pads are
gone in anticipation of mining. The old reclaimed Rubi Leach pad material is also almost
gone. The material from the pad with the exception of a small amount placed along the old
#3 &4 pad areas, is buried in the East Cresson Mine AS BACKFILL.
Inspected the old Iron Clad and Globe hill area. As noted in the previous inspection, CC&V
had contracted with a salvage yard to remove some of the mine waste from the area. A small
drill rig was active along the west side of the old pads.
Inspected the phase 1,II,II& IV leach pad areas and recorded the following readings from
the high and low volume solution collection transducers.
Phase I high volume solution collection transducer # 1 was recorded at 47.4 # 2 was at
48.9 and # 3 was at 49.0. Piezometer for the pond was recorded at 57.4 feet. Low volume #
1 was at .15 & # 2 was at.24.
Phase II, High Volume Solution Collection Transducer # 4 was recorded at 33.1 # 5 was at
29.3 and # 6 was at 32.8. Piezometer for the pond was recorded at 34.2 feet.
Phase IV, High Volume solution collection transducer # 7 was recorded AT 43.0 # 8 WAS AT
42.5 and #9 was at 44.1. and # 10 was at 44.5. Low volume transducer # 1 was at 11.2 and #
2 was at 4.8 inches of hydrostatic head. Jody Keel who is in charge of electrical
maintenance for the site was in the area at the time of the inspection.
Inspected the External pond, it was holding about the same amount of water as noted during
the last inspection. Low volume solution collection transducer # 1 was recorded at 12.5
and # 2 was at 10.8 inches of hydrostatic head.
Inspected the under-drain, both the 4 inch pipe and the south under drain was at a
trickle.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: MR TIM COMER
OPERATOR: CC&V
ADDRESS P.O.BOX 191
CITY/STATE/ZIP: VICTOR- C-01 QRADQ 80860 cc: r CE
