Hydrologic Monitoring Schedule
Wells B-6 and EC-7 appear in the hydrologic monitoring schedule on page 5 of the 2007 ABR but do
not need to be sampled since they do not appear on page 2.04-41 of the permit application. In order to
avoid any confusion, please delete these two stations from the AHR monitoring schedule or revise the
schedule to show that these two stations do not need to be sampled.
6. Note 2 on page 5 of the 2007 AHR states that sites NF-1 and NF-3 are to be sampled similar to the
sampling described in note 1, plus continuous monthly field parameters. However, page 2 of Exhibit
2.05-E7 states that sampling of sites NF-1 and NF-3 include 0 quarter water samples. The 2007 AHR
does not contain full laboratory analyses for sites NF-1 and NF-3 for the fourth quarter. Please revise
note 2 on page 5 of the 2007 and future AHRs to include fourth quarter full suite analyses for NF-1 and
NF-3 and explain the absence of the fourth quarter full suite monitoring results for these two sites.
7. Note 8 on page 5 of the 2007 AHR states that only surface flow is to be measured at stations B-2 and 13-
3. The surface flow information for these two stations is presented on page 7 of the 2007 AHR.
However, as stated on permit application page 2 of Exhibit 2.05-E7, these two stations are to be sampled
for flow and field parameters twice during June after tributary flow has ended. Please explain why field
parameters were not sampled and revise note 8 in the 2007 and future AHRs appropriately in order to
avoid any confusion.
8. As stated on permit application page 1 of Exhibit 2.05-E7 and on page 13 of the 2007 AHR, well B2D2
is a ground water monitoring site. However, well B2D2 does not appear in the hydrologic monitoring
schedule on page 5 of the 2007 AHR. Please revise page 5 to include well 132132.
Hydrologic Data Sheets
The hydrologic monitoring parameters list, on page 2.04-41 of the permit application and, also, on page
4 of the 2007 AHR, shows that dissolved iron and total recoverable iron are to be sampled when
laboratory analyses of surface water and ground water are performed. However, the 2007 AHR data
sheets for surface water monitoring sites only list one iron parameter. Please revise the hydrologic data
sheets for the surface water monitoring sites to show both dissolved and total recoverable iron values, as
was done with the ground water monitoring sites.
10. The hydrologic monitoring parameters list, on page 2.04-41 of the permit application and on page 4 of
the 2007 AHR, shows that alkalinity is to be tested whenever laboratory analyses of surface and ground
water are performed. However, none of the 2007 AHR data sheets appear to show alkalinity testing
results. Please explain.
11. On page 1 of 6 of the 2007 AHR data sheets for surface water monitoring site S-1, there are no entries
for flow from June 2007 through October 2007. In order to avoid any confusion, please revise the data
sheet to show zeros for those months when there were no flows.
12. The note on permit application page 2.04-41 states that several chemical parameters in addition to ones
on the standard list are to be tested at the North Fork surface water sampling sites during August.
However, the data sheets for NF-1 and NF-3 in the 2007 AHR do not show the results for some of these
additional constituents, including ammonia, cyanide, silver, boron, chromium III, chromium :[V,
chlorine and nickel. Please explain.
2
