MINING PLAN
1. General Mining Plan
EXHIBIT C
The property has been surveyed and the permit area will be staked prior to any additional
disturbance. Map E-213 shows the mining plan. The plan shows that mining will be done in 4
phases: Mining Areas 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Access to the permit area will be from Highway 92 via Clear Fork Road from the north, to an
existing road on Don Hart's property leading to the processing area. The gravel deposit is
expected to have a relatively flat bottom. Past mining shows that the deposit is approximately 12
feet to 24 feet thick. Overburden is expected to be encountered at a thickness of up to 8'. There
are existing topsoil and overburden stockpiles on site. See Map E-2A. Below the gravel deposit
is additional gravel but has significant fines and is not going to be mined.
Topsoil will be salvaged from all Mining Areas. The expected topsoil thickness is 3-6 inches.
Initially, topsoil will be stockpiled in a berm along the northern portion of the permit area (See
Map E-213). Processing will be done by an outside contractor for a short period of time each year
to produce enough product to last the pit for 1-3 years. Gravel will be mined and taken to the
crusher/screen by a front end loader. All operations will be contained within the 9.74 acre permit
area. All topsoil from Mining Area 1, 2, 3 and 4 must be stockpiled because the operation will
topsoil and seed the disturbed slopes at the end of mining. Overburden will be placed on the
sideslopes as new areas are mined to reduce the amount of reclamation work to be done at the
end of mining. All slopes will be mined to 1.5H:1 V and the backfilled to 3H:1 V. The amount of
overburden needed to backfill the sideslopes of Mining Area 4 is approximately 4,000 C.Y. The
remaining overburden that is encountered during mining will be placed on the pit floor. The
mining areas and stockpiles are shown on Map E-213.
Mott pit, March 2009 C-1
