SITE DESCRIPTION EXHIBIT B
1. Location and General Land Use Information
The site is comprised of a small ridge, boarded by an irrigation ditch to the north and east,
rangeland to the south and west, irrigated pasture to the north, and Alkali Creek to the west. The
Elevation of the site is approximately 6960'. The town of Crawford is 5.5 miles north of this site
on Highway 92.
2. Site Geology
This gravel deposit is a dry terrace approximately 50' above Alkali Creek. The deposit lies above
the Mancos Shale Formation.
3. Surface Hydrology
Since the site is a ridge there will be almost no surface water entering the site from up gradient
sources. All stormwater will be detained on site and allowed to evaporate or infiltrate. The water
resource that currently receives water from the permit area is Alkali Creek. Ground water will
not be exposed during mining. The following runoff calculation was performed in the computer
program called SurvCad.
Runoff Curve Number and Runoff 10/30/2008 13:23
Project: Mott Pit By: Ryan Ellis Date: 10/30/2008
Location: Sump Checked: Date:
Developed
1.
