Cattany
Hayden, CO 81639 Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
Re: Yoast Mine (Permit No. C-94-082)
Technical Revision No. 39 - Adequacy Review
Dear Mr. Karo:
The Division of Reclamation Mining, and Safety (Division) has reviewed the above referenced
technical revision application materials submitted by Seneca Coal Company (SCC) for establishing
ground water points of compliance at the Yoast Mine. The Division has worked closely with SCC on
developing a plan for specific points of compliance in accordance with applicable Rule 4.05.13(1).
The Division concurs with SCC's overall plan for points of compliance at Yoast Mine and has minimal
comments regarding the revision application.
1. Figure i is not very legible and the point of compliance wells YSAL3 and GW-S70-A are
difficult to identify on the map. SCC had originally submitted a color copy of this figure in a
draft revision during the planning phases of this project. The color copy is preferable because
it clearly shows the alluvial drainages and the well numbers are more legible. Please resubmit
Figure 1 in color or more legible print.
2. There is a typographical error on page 15-1-3. In the last sentence on this page please change
the word "and" to "an".
If you have any questions or need additional information, please call me.
-jincerety, ---
Daniel T.
