Suspected well TPW-1, Twin Pines Mine, February 2009
The single sediment pond at the coal sales yard was found dry and the pond embankment
appeared stable and unchanged from the previous inspection. The sediment pond at the
mine portal bench area was also found dry.
The remainder of the reclaimed areas at the portal and the sales yard appeared normal for
the winter season. Use by deer and elk was evident. ATV tracks and horse tracks indicate
some recreational use.
The Division will consult with the landowner regarding well TPW-1 prior to any further action
associated with the termination of jurisdiction at this site.
