Issues regarding the effect of mining activities on groundwater levels are
addressed by the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology, rather than the Water Quality Control Division. The Division has
contacted the Division of Minerals and Geology so that they may appropriately address the citizen's concerns. Based on afield
inspection conducted by the Water Quality Control Division staff, there were no operational issues that would prevent renewal of
this general CDPS discharge permit. It is the Divisions determination that no changes to the general permit are needed to address
this situation, and therefore, no changes were made to the permit.
August 28, 2002
