Other <br />species that make use of this site include jackrabbit, other <br />small mammals and rodents, ground nesting prairie birds, shore <br />birds and waterfowl. <br />5. Soils <br />The soils of this site are deep, somewhat poorly drained and <br />occur on terraces and bottomlands. The soils formed in <br />calcareous alluvium. The soil texture ranges from sandy loam to <br />clay. <br />Permeability is slow to moderate with a high to moderate <br />available water capacity.
