Landscape fabric resulted in significant increases in the aspen survival (Fig. 5),
terminal leader growth (Fig. 6), and stem caliper (Fig. 7). Irrigation significantly increase
stem caliper, but not terminal leader growth. The relationship of terminal leader growth
• and basal caliper in relation to landscape fabric was dramatic and significant. The
response of aspen to irrigation was statistically significant only for caliper growth, and
the response was considerably less to irrigation than to landscape fabric.
