The Operator will be responsible for controlling noxious weed infesta#ions on all NFS project disturbance areas from the date of discovery up to the point of release of the CDRMS reclamation bond and associated reclamation liability. Any herbicides used must be USES approved and will be applied at the recommended rates by a certified applicator in compliance with State laws. 2. Any hay or straw used shall be certified as weed free. 3. To support the post-mining land use, reseeding will be performed as outlined in the current District's Seed Mix: Rattler type Elevation Species Lbs/aGre (PLS) 'f. of Mixture Mountain Shrub 7-8,000 Mauntaln Brornegrass 4 20 Prairie June rase 3 15 .w6Sterfl wheat rass 4 _ _ 20 irKSian Rice rass 3 15 .• _ Sandbe blu rass 3 15 Bluebunch wheat rass 3~ 15 Total 20 700 The above grass species may vary slightly dependent on the particular held site. The mixes will be customized per location to optimize reclamation success. The above sped mixes will also include a mix of native forts from the following list: Coreposis .lancelota, tupinus argentus, Phlox drummondii, Thermopsis Montana. Penstemon strlctus, Vicia amerlcenus, Achilles millefolium var. occidentalls (et a very !ow rate}, Astor chilensis, Erigeron speciosus, Eriogunum umbellatum or Coranium viscosissimum. The prectse forts to be included will be prescribed on a case-bycase basis, as the particcrlar site conditions dictate. At least 3 for6 species will be InGuded in each mix. The seed mix must be 99% puts live seed and be weed flee. 4. Harassment of livestock and wildlife is prohibited. If stock is in the project area, extra precautions must be taken by the operator and their contractors to ensure that stock are not pushed out of the currently occupied grazing unit. 5. The Operator will be held responsible for all damage to fences, cattle guards, resource improvements, roads, and other structures on NFS lands that result from their operations. The Forest Service must be notified of damages as soon as possible. 6. Surveys for raptors shall be conducted prior to surface disturbing activities to determine locations of individuals or populations of these species. This applies specifically to goshawks, peregrine falcons, and golden eagles but may apply to other species if located during surveys. • 7. No activities shall be allowed within % mile of an active northern goshawk nest from March 1 to July 31 if they would cause nesting failure or abandonment (t_RMP III-26)
