will either be discharged to the detention basin illustrated on the Exhibit C map (refer
to Exhibit G for a discussion of the basin), or to small, specific. recycle ponds.
Life of the Operation
It is anticipated that only about three acres, more-or-less, will be mined per year.
On the basis of this rate of extraction, the life of the operation is estimated to be about
18 years, more or less. However, the actual rates of extraction, and corresponding life
of the operation will be based on market demands for the product.
Phases of Mining and Reclamation
The operation is expected to occur in three phases as follows:
PHASE AREA* ESTIMATED TIME PERIOD
1 22.9 ac 5 yrs.
2 22.9 ac. 6 yrs.
3 21.0 ac. 7 yrs.
66.8 ac.* 18 yrs.
The permit area totals 66.8+/- acres. However the actual area to be disturbed
is about 63.8+1- acres: Phase 1 = 21.4+1- ac., Phase 2 = 22.2+1- ac., Phase 3 =
20.2+/- ac.
Concurrent Reclamation
Reclamation will occur in conjunction with the mining operation to the extent
practicable. It is planned that a maximum of about 21.4 +/- acres of total disturbance
(the disturbed area of Phase 1) will occur at any time before reclamation commences
and will also be the basis for calculating the financial warranty.
Notes
1 . Both the Exhibit C and Exhibit F maps show the permit boundary
offset slightly from fences located on the south and east sides of the
permit boundary. This is for illustration purposes only so that the fence is
-6-
