Dove Gulch Hydrology Report Gault Group Inc
• 3.0 Results
Field investigation revealed three small areas with minimal discontinuous surface water (Figure 1). Each
of these areas was evidence of a spring on the south side slope of Dove Gulch above the drainage, water
from which was quickly absorbed by alluvium when it reached the bottom of the drainage (from GPS pt.
010 to GPS pt. 017, Appendix A). Additionally, the investigation revealed no discharge of surface water
down canyon into Hubbard Creek (GPS pts. 24 & 25, Appendix A). The majority of Dove Gulch
drainage did not possess evidence of stream cut banks, debris transport, and vegetation patterns associated
with characteristics of drainages categorized as Waters of the United States. The results of the Dove
Gulch investigation indicate that the flow regime in Dove Gulch is best characterized as ephemeral during
normal flow cycle, exhibiting flows along the entire drainage only periodically in response to storm
events or abnormally heavy seasonal runoff.
4.0 Conclusion
The results of the investigation support the re-designation of Dove Gulch on USGS and G1N1UG maps
from perennial to ephemeral status.
5.0 Appendices
5.1 APPENDIX A - Dove Gulch Hydrology Report Photo Documentation
5.2 APPENDIX B - Dove Gulch Hydrology Report Field Data
Page 3 of 3
